Double Dip Trail Run

Our trail grading: ORANGE 5A
Distance: 7.5km
Extremeness: Rocky technical single track & two uphills
Location: Brandwacht, Stellenbosch, South Africa
Joggers: Deryck Nel, Dirk van der Merwe, Wim Morris & me

Today we decided to deviate from our regular Friday afternoon route and try something new! We started from Deryck's house and took the shortest route towards the single track mountain bikers call the G-spot. In the middle of the G-spot we lost Wim and Dirk, but Deryck and I continued all the way to the foot of the hill. From here on we went uphill again to join with the East-most section of our regular Friday jog. From here we headed towards Coetzenburg and then turned left onto the technical single track that forms part of the Stellenbosch Vista 12km Trail Run. This, of course, meant that we were at the bottom of the hill again! So we ascended again, up to the point where we could cut across the G-spot and head towards Deryck's home. After a tough week at work, the jog turned out to also be fairly tough.

Before Wim and Dirk chickened out...
