Jonkers Western Loop Trail Run

Our trail grading: ORANGE 8A
Distance: 13km
Extremeness: Wet shoes & narrow contour paths
Location: Jonkershoek, Stellenbosch, South Africa
Joggers: Deryck Nel & me

This morning we decided to jog our favourite Jonkershoek Western Loop aka the Corrie-route. Everything was still wet after the rain and after about 3km on the circle route we turned onto the Swartboskloof hiking route. Here the real climb started and after about 5km we turned onto a contour route (think it is called the Hakea) which links up with the Sosyskloof hiking route. At the Fire Hut we turn onto another contour path taking us to the top of the MTB route to the West of the Jonkershoek gate - not sure what the route is called. This route was rockier than during our previous visit months ago, but was still enjoyable. It took as all the way back to the gate on a spectacular single track.
