Waterval Trail Run

Our trail grading: RED 9C
Distance: 9km
Extremeness: Fairly technical single track and super tough decent
Location: Waterval, Porterville, South Africa
Joggers: Only me

This Saturday I did one of my most extreme jogs yet - the Waterfall hiking route. This is a day hiking route said to take 8 hours... I did it in 3! This route starts up a beautiful ravine which claim to have 22 waterfalls. The route is clearly marked with yellow paint every few metres, but is still tough to navigate given its technical nature. You emerge from the kloof after about 3 kilometres and then climb further on technical single track to a lookout point. From here the road takes you down "Blindekloof" (aka Blind Ravine) which is one of the steepest descents I have ever done (without rope).
