Platteklip Gorge to Kasteelspoort Trail Run

Our trail grading: BROWN 8B
Distance: 12.23km
Extremeness: Very tough climb and technical single track
Location: Table Mountain, Cape Town, South Africa
Joggers: Andre Dippenaar & me

This morning before work we did a proper extreme jog... 12km of truly epic single track crossing Table Mountain! Our run started at the bottom of Tafelberg road and we had nice warm-up stretch of 3km before hitting Platteklip Gorge, a 900m climb in about 2km. At the top we carried on straight on beautiful single tracks and I can confirm, Table Mountain is not flat! We headed past a place called Valley of Red Gods and then headed down Kasteelpoort onto the well known pipe track. We followed the pipe track all the way back to the parking at Mocke Reservoir. What an awesome loop and thanks Andre for your photos!
